5 Channel Ultra Amplifier - my thoughts This is an excellent value for the Home Theater Lover who is also a discernable Audiophile ! 5 dedicated high current switching power supplies for each channel. Many of Leo's customers (including myself) loved the sound of his 2 channel Ultras so much that we'd built our versions of the multichannel Amps discussed here using either dedicated "Switchers" or a 40lbs. Toroidal mounted in a 10 pound chassis (me). Leo always was a great "Shaman" for how to best power his Ultra modules. For the DIY challenged. This new form factor is a welcome addition to the Orchard Audio Amplifier Family. Go crazy and custom order a 4 channel Ultra Amp for your height channels ! Two chassis....9 channels !!! I drive two Final Audio M12"+" Speakers, two Series 1 (1968) Bose 901's for the surround channels, and a Bose 901 Series 2 for my Center Channel. All 5 are demanding Speakers to drive. The 5 channels will get warm but Leo has plentiful slots for heat dissipation in his chassis design. Don’t be shy….your Speakers will thank you later. ✌🏾🤟🏾

I've upgraded my Starkrimson Stereo Ultra 2.5 to the DMC version. Leo quickly answered my questions and shipped the upgrade kit in two days! I rewired the unit using wire ferrule terminals, no worrying about frayed wires. I've noticed how much quieter it sounds and how subtle background sounds are clearer. Thanks Leo.

Leo is great to work with and would recommend him and his products for your Audio requirements. My experience with Leo. Converting my requirements into a design that is fit for purpose. Keeping me updated on the progress of the build process and the final Delivery. Honest, Straight forward and value for money.

I have owned and listened to a lot of audio gear, but the Orchard Audio Starkrimson Ultra 2.5 DMC is one of those rare pieces that immediately makes you stop analyzing equipment and start rediscovering your music. This amplifier has completely impressed me. The first thing that stood out was the combination of power, control, and refinement. It does not just play loud; it plays with authority. Bass is tight, fast, and controlled, the midrange is clean and natural, and the detail retrieval is outstanding without ever becoming harsh or fatiguing. There is a sense of speed, separation, and transparency that makes vocals and instruments feel more alive and more believable. What I appreciate most is that the Starkrimson Ultra 2.5 DMC gives me the best parts of high-end amplification without the usual tradeoffs. It has the grip and dynamics you expect from a powerful amp, but it also has the finesse, openness, and musicality that make long listening sessions enjoyable. The soundstage opened up, imaging became more precise, and my speakers feel like they are being driven effortlessly. Orchard Audio has built something truly special here. The design, performance, and value are all excellent, and Leo’s passion for what he builds comes through in the product. This is not just a great Class D amp or a great GaN amp, it is simply a great amplifier, period. I could not be happier with the Starkrimson Ultra 2.5. It has taken my system to another level and reminded me why I love this hobby. Highly recommended.

I'm impressed by the sound quality of my PecanPi+ DAC. Leo has been quick to respond to questions. I would recommend Orchard Audio to anyone who truly cares about the performance of their gear.

I recently upgraded from the Starkrimson Ultra DCM 2.5 to the Ultra Premium LPS Monoblocks....as a long time "tube" guy, I absolutely adore these Orchard Audio GaN amps. In shipment a large can capacitor came off it's board, can't imagine how UPS managed to do this, but none the less, Leo responded immediately and sent out a replacement capacitor....an easy fix. Love it!

Awesome service! I lost my Strarkrimson Ultra to a line power surge, Leo helped to get it up and running again. Excellent support for amazing products.

After a lot of research I opted for the Orchard Audio Starkrimson Ultra 2.5 Stereo 500W amplifier. Paired with a tube DAC (Doge 7) and Tekton Design Double Impact speakers. Spectacular performance. Had high expectations but they were dwarfed in reality. For me this is end game. In my opinion the value is unbeatable, compared to high end systems that are many multiples higher cost. This amp will drive your speakers like they are nothing, grab them by the scruff of their neck and shake them ruthlessly with an iron grip, wrapped in the proverbial velvet glove. Unreal dynamics. Front row concert experience thanks to the scale and depth of the sound stage, and the sustain that never ends. Absolute precision, with the ever present potential to deliver just as much fury as prescribed. You will cry.

I managed rather clumsily to short the speaker terminals of the Starkrimson 25 Premium when something fell across them - note to self, it's very easy to turn the amps off! Leo sent the replacement board (available from the DIY part of the site and excellent value) really fast. It was very simple to replace (two wires to solder, and swap the XLR input to the terminals on the new board) and it is working really well. I was really impressed with the board - the neat layout and clean work. I had the Fosi V3 mono amps and swapped them in while the Starkrimson was out of action, and switching between them made it clear how superior the sound from the Starkrimson is in terms of finesse, solidity, spatial definition and an overall organic sound. Not entirely unexpected because of the difference in price but the Fosi's have had rave reviews and people asking how close budget amps are now getting to high end designs. My view is "not very", even though I think the Starkrimson amp is exceptional and extremely good value at its price point. And, as is clear in my case, backed by excellent customer service.
